I was
shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp--
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics and the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.

Bob, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloudnine,
Looking incredibly well.

I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.

'And why is everyone so quiet,
So somber - give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' He said,
'they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you..'

Remember...Just going to church doesn't make you a
Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.

Every saint has a PAST...
Every sinner has a FUTURE!

Now it's your turn... Share this poem.

Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil...
It has no point!

Excerpt - Jesus Calling Devotional

"I Am the truth: the One who came to set you free. As the Holy Spirit controls your mind and actions more fully, you become free in Me. You are increasingly released to become the one I created you to be. This is a work I do in you as you yield to My Spirit. I can do My best handiwork when you sit in the stillness of My Presence, focusing your entire being on Me." -Jesus Calling, June 30th.

You Think You're Having An Identity Crisis!

At least you aren't this guy!

God really does have a sense of humor!

Excerpt from Jesus Lives Devotional

"In union with Me you are complete. In closeness to Me you are transformed more and more into the one I designed you to be... As you center your attention on Me - I bless you with My Peace... I fill you with My treasure: the Light of the knowledge of My Glory. This divine Light fills you to the brim - making you complete. It also transforms you into the masterpiece I designed you to be." -Jesus Lives, p. 223.

Jumpin' In With Both Feet

It's taken me a long time to decide to finally start a blog...what in the world was I thinkin'?  I've been fighting with the "I have nothing exciting to write about" voice for the past few days, then I just decided to jump in with both feet!
I've been naviagating all the gadgets and gizmos, trying to get a lay-out I like and testing out many of the's been interesting and time consuming - but given the state of such little choice of good, quality t.v., it helped pass the evening.
I'm still not sure what I'm doing, but I guess I'll figure it out as I go along!
